Subodh Gupta, Ph.D., P.Eng.,

the principal consultant and Technology Advisor at Heretech Energy Inc has been working in the process and petroleum industry for more than 35 years. He has pioneered solvent use in the thermal oil recovery as well as developed novel carbon sequestration approaches. He has previously worked at Cenovus Energy and its predecessor companies, including EnCana, PanCanadian Petroleum, and CS Resources.

Subodh serves as a member of the Canadian Photonic Industry Consortium Board of Directors, Journal of Petroleum Technology Editorial Committee Board, and the NRG-COSIA Carbon XPRIZE Technical Advisory Board, and Technology Alberta Advisory Board.

With numerous publications and patents in his name, he has also been a Society of Petroleum Engineers distinguished lecturer, as well as a member of the distinguished lecturer Selection Committee. He has been an invited speaker and panelist to many conferences, including the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, Canadian International Petroleum Conference, the Canadian Institute’s Carbon Capture and Storage Conference, Global Petroleum Conference, and the Canadian Heavy Oil Association.

Subodh holds a Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, and M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Calgary.
